How to Migrate Your Library/Files from Parallels to Pro Quick Draw 365 (for Mac)

If you've been previously been using Parallels to operate a Mac on your PC with Pro Quick Draw and wish to preserve the drawings and templates you made, you can migrate the files with these instructions.

  • Begin in Parallels

  • Open Microsoft PowerPoint in Parallels

  • On the Pro Quick Draw 4 ribbon, click Settings

  • Click Settings on the menu

  • Jot down your file location where your drawings and templates are located - in my instance they are both located in P:\Playbook\PQD Master Library\
    *Note
Your folders could be in separate areas, the goal is to simply copy and paste what you want to use(your current working files), into a centralized folder to upload - mine are in the PQD Master Library folder

  • Open a web browser and navigate to onedrive.live.com
    • Login using your Microsoft Account credentials

  • Click My Files on the left navigation bar

  • Click the Create or upload button

  • Click Folder upload

  • Find and select the folder you are looking to upload and use within PQD for Mac, then click the Upload button - mine is the PQD Master Library folder

  • You may be prompted with another upload button depending on your browser, if you do click the Upload button

  • You will see this uploading progress bar at the bottom of the window (depending on the amount of items you are uploading it could take some time, do not click anything else until this is complete)

  • Once the upload is complete you will get the green check mark on that progress bar and see your folder listed

  • Now you will close Parallels and open Microsoft PowerPoint on your Mac and click Show Panel on the ribbon bar

  • Now we will import the drawing library

  • Click on the Library button

  • Click Manage Play Libraries

  • Click the Add Library button

  • Click the arrow next to the folder you just uploaded into OneDrive to expand

  • Select the play library folder that contains your play drawings and folder structure and click the Select button

  • Once imported you should see the new folder listed, click the Done button

  • Click on the arrow to expand the library dropdown and confirm your new Play Library is listed

  • You can expand the folder tree below to also confirm you drawings are displayed to choose

  • Now we will import your template library

  • Click the Library button

  • Click Manage Template Libraries

  • Click the Add Template Folder button

  • Click the arrow next to the folder we uploaded into OneDrive, select the folder containing your templates and click the Select button

  • Confirm your new template folder is listed, click the Done button

  • On the PQD ribbon bar, click Select Template

  • On the Select Template window click the arrow for the dropdown and confirm your new template library is listed

  • Select the new library and confirm your templates are displayed

  • Now you should have all of working files you have built through-out the years using Parallels in Pro Quick Draw for Mac.
